PowerPoint presentations are used as aids or support for presentations and ideally are meant to be transferable in the event the creator of the presentation does not use a laptop computer or needs to transfer or share her presentation. Saving a PowerPoint presentation to a flash drive or thumb drive allows it to be used on any desktop or laptop computer that also has PowerPoint or a PowerPoint viewer.
Instructions

Open the PowerPoint presentation you wish to save to your flash or thumb drive.

Insert your flash drive into an available USB port.

Open Microsoft PowerPoint using your Start Menu. Click the "Start" button, then "Programs" and select "Microsoft PowerPoint." It may be located under the Microsoft Office folder.

Click the "Office" logo button at the type left of the PowerPoint window, then click "Save As." If you are running a version of PowerPoint prior to Office 2007, click "File," located on the menu bar, then click "Save As."

Navigate to the flash drive using the the directory navigation window that appears. Select "My Computer" from the "Save In" drop-down menu located at the top of the window. Scroll to the section that's titled "Removable Storage" or select the icon associated with your flash drive. The flash drive will be named according to its brand or with the name it was renamed to.

Click the "Save" button to save your PowerPoint presentation in the new directory on your flash drive.
